The wet weather was a challenge for all, with day 1 being a complete wash out with heavy wind and rain curtesy of Cyclone Debbie. This did not stop the strong group of skiers from competing over the 2 remaining days.

This is a huge achievement, coming off a fantastic run of form leading to her Overall tilte at the World Championships in USA. Below is a copy of of the letter sent by the chairman of the World Barefoot Council. This award was based on their performances in IWWF homologated tournaments throughout David Small had a great year, setting a personal best of 14, in tricks and David has a set of pending trick records for of 12,, 13,, 13,, 13, and 14, Many congratulations to David and Georgia.
They both have not only shown great talent and athleticism, but a true dedication to the sport.

In the World Championships William skied out a very impressive point trick run smashing the previous record held by Tyler Groen. The last event for women was the jump. To beat Georgia, the Australian had to jump a world record and add 0.
Georgia was humble in victory paying tribute to her fellow competitors, her parents, her New Zealand team and her skiing buddies. Georgia was not the only local connection. The Kelly family from Pauatahanui had father Bevan and twins Meg and Toby on the water, with twins both contributing points to the New Zealand Junior Team bringing home the Bronze medal, while Bevan again won the world senior title in the jump event. Meg was first in tricks and slalom, and first overall in sub junior girls, while Toby was first in tricks, second in slalom and second overall in sub junior boys.

Meg has been named in the New Zealand team for the World Championships in Wisconsin next month, along with her father Bevan Kelly who will represent New Zealand in senior and open mens events, while Toby will ski as an independent. Bevan has been barefooting for more than 33 years, and is a former world champion in his category for both , and The National Selectors have been monitoring the training and progress of both Toby Kelly and Marguerite Scott and believe the efforts these two have put into training, the progress they have made and the potential points they could contribute to the Team, warrants their inclusion now as full Team members.
Previous results. I had to get more toast to clean the bowl with. Coffee was nice and staff were friendly. There is a coffee cart outside too which makes it easy to get one on the go. They have a loyalty card and a monthly giveaway too. When we are driving through Otaki, we always stop here for our cheese scone and date and cinnamon scone fix. Delicious every time!

We stopped in for a late morning tea, and ordered steak and cheese pies with coffee. The pies were delicious, and the pastry was crisp Coffee was excellent, and the service was first class. Thank goodness for the easy rear parking, wet windy cold spring day!!!!! Really warm inside with welcoming staff. Good menu and counter selections, reasonably priced. Coffee in particular is very good. Was a busy Saturday so we had a bit of delay getting our order, but after asking it came out super quick.
