Relax stroll along river mouth, nice. Some people mixed up this place with Florence Hill which is close each other but not the same. Papatowai Beach is approx. From the main road take detour off road for short distance through local roads and then you will be at the beach. Take a stroll along the river side on sandy white brownish beach, relax and nice walk.
Enjoy the view of the river mouth and sea waves at the distances, and the road bridge at the hill side. There is some tracks, short, medium and long routes along the river side, the choices are yours. Great beach. We visited Papatowai Beach on a rugged afternoon but that didn't takeaway from this fantastic place. Wild, rugged and a great place to visit. This is a wide beach, when we were there huge waves were hidding the ciast line due to a strong gale.
