My wife and I just happened to stop overnight in Hawera on our drive back from Wellington to Auckland. How lucky we were! Our motel was just across from this park. It is divided by very neatly tended long hedges, play equipment and other shrubbery into many separate areas, so that we wandered along, seeing one interesting area after another.
