We booked this motel several months before the eruption of White Island and wondered what we might find when we arrived.
But we discovered a thriving, interesting little town which is full of history and lovely beaches are within an easy drive. The Maori Meeting House next door is a fascinating place to visit. The motel itself is lovely and is staffed by friendly, helpful people.
The cafe and gift shop attached to the motel are very good. Our room was large, clean and well equipped. The guest laundry was a great facility to be able to use and was included in the cost of the accommodation.
